Practical Use Notes / Dos and Don'ts

Do

  • Wash the surface thoroughly before starting. Any salt, grit or dirt left behind can cause additional marking during polishing.
  • Shake the bottle well and apply it to a small section at a time.
  • Test an inconspicuous patch first, particularly on dark, coloured, repaired or older gelcoat.
  • Work the product while it is still wet, then allow it to haze before wiping it away with a clean, dry microfibre cloth.
  • Start with the least aggressive application method and follow the current label, safety data and PPE guidance.

Don’t

  • Use it as a routine wax on gelcoat that is already in good condition.
  • Assume that every dull surface needs aggressive cutting. Contamination, old wax or staining can sometimes produce a similar appearance.
  • Keep polishing sharp edges, corners, raised details or previously repaired areas without regularly checking the surface.
  • Use a dirty applicator, clogged polishing pad or contaminated cloth.
  • Expect a one-step wax to repair deep scratches, crazing, thin gelcoat or serious surface deterioration.
