Snappy Teak Nu
Teak & Wood Care

Snappy Teak-Nu is a two-part, acid-based teak cleaner designed for heavily weathered or stained teak. It is used for deep and thorough teak cleaning and brightening, especially when teak has become grey, dirty, patchy or marked over time.
This is not a light routine teak cleaner. The acids used in the system are strong, so TYMH recommends treating Snappy Teak-Nu as a reset product rather than something to use regularly. For most yacht and boat maintenance routines, it is better suited to occasional deep cleaning, such as once or twice per year, depending on the condition of the teak, exposure, use and manufacturer guidance.
It may be worth considering before applying teak oil, teak sealer or another protective finish, as it can help restore the appearance of bare teak before the next stage of maintenance. However, care should be taken around caulking, paint, varnish, aluminium, stainless, fibreglass and surrounding finishes. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions, wear suitable PPE and test on a small area first.
TYMH likes this product because it is a practical option for deeper teak restoration jobs where a normal boat soap or light teak cleaner may not be enough.
It is useful for yacht owners, captains and crew who need to bring weathered teak back to a cleaner, brighter condition before applying a teak oil, teak sealer or other finishing product. The two-part process also makes it a more targeted choice for maintenance routines where teak has become grey or stained.
This is not the product TYMH would suggest for quick weekly cleaning. It is better suited to planned teak restoration, seasonal maintenance, pre-sale preparation, yard periods or deeper cleaning before protective treatment.
