Facom Socket Set 1/4 Inch

Tools & Equipment

Last updated 9 September 2026

Product Summary

The Facom RL.NANO1PB is a compact 38-piece metric socket and bit set built around a 1/4-inch ratchet. It contains ten 6-point sockets from 5.5mm to 14mm, 21 screwdriver bits, two extensions, a universal joint and a short screwdriver handle.

Its small case makes it easy to carry between the engine room, tender and different working areas onboard. It is particularly useful for routine maintenance and smaller fasteners where a full-size socket set would be unnecessarily bulky.

This is not a complete engineering socket set, but it covers many of the sizes regularly needed for everyday yacht maintenance. Full contents are listed in the official Facom specification.

Why TYMH Likes It

TYMH has personally used this Facom Socket Set and can confirm that it is reliable, easy to use and built to last. Facom is a trusted professional tool brand and is frequently found aboard professionally operated yachts.

The compact case is one of its strongest features. It keeps the most commonly used smaller sockets and bits together without taking up unnecessary space in the onboard tool inventory.

TYMH has also found the tools offer excellent rust resistance when cleaned and stored correctly. They are not completely rustproof, however, and should never be left wet or exposed to saltwater.

The main limitation is that this is a small metric 1/4-inch set. Larger or heavily torqued fasteners will require a 3/8-inch or 1/2-inch drive set.

Best for

  • Engine and generator covers
  • Small pumps, brackets and equipment housings
  • Hose clamps and mounting hardware
  • Tender and outboard maintenance
  • Interior fittings, hinges and catches
  • Tight or difficult-to-access fasteners

FAQs

It is designed for routine work on smaller metric fasteners. Onboard, it is useful for covers, brackets, clamps, fittings and general maintenance.

Yes. TYMH has personally used the set and found it reliable for regular onboard work. Facom tools are also commonly used across professionally operated yachts.

The set includes ten 6-point metric sockets from 5.5mm to 14mm, along with 21 screwdriver bits and several drive accessories.

No tool set should be considered completely rustproof. TYMH has found it offers excellent rust resistance, but it must still be cleaned, dried and stored properly.

No. The 1/4-inch drive is intended for smaller fasteners. Larger or high-torque jobs will require a heavier socket set and potentially a torque wrench.

Only if the individual socket or accessory is specifically marked for impact use. This set is best treated as a manual hand-tool kit.
